MEET THE STAFF.
Jayme Tabuchi – Director – Fearless Leader
Jayme is an accomplished Executive Director with a wealth of experience in animal care and business management. She started BHS in October 2017 and has been instrumental in driving the organization’s mission forward. Prior to her current role, Jayme worked at animal control, where she gained extensive experience in animal care and welfare.
Jayme’s expertise in business management and accounting has also proven invaluable to BHS, helping to ensure that resources are allocated effectively and efficiently. She has a proven track record of success in sales and marketing, which has helped her organization grow and thrive under her leadership.
Jayme has a special place in her heart for older dogs, especially those who are cantankerous and stubborn. She believes that every animal deserves love and care, no matter their age or disposition. Her passion for animal welfare is evident in everything she does, and she is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of animals in need.
Alicia – Operations Manager
Alicia is a dedicated and experienced manager who joined BHS in 2012 as the manager of the downtown thrift store. Her leadership and management skills were instrumental in the store’s success, which helped fund the organization’s animal welfare programs.
In 2018, Alicia took on a new role as the Adoption/Foster Coordinator for the organization’s newly established foster program. Which has been instrumental in increasing our adoptions because it has allowed us to intake more animals.
Alicia has a special love for cats and wants to continue building resources for the cat community. She is also a lover of chickens and coffee, which reflects her eclectic and charming personality.
Vanessa – Volunteer Coordinator
Vanessa’s childhood dream was to work with animals. Instead, she entered the teaching profession and taught in Nebraska for 25 years. After retiring and moving to this area in 2018, she began volunteering at BHS in 2019. Childhood dream finally came true.
Judy – Office Assistant
Judy is an office assistant who has been with BHS since April 2022. Prior to joining the team at the humane society, Judy worked as a chef at the Keeter Center for several years. Her experience as a chef has honed her skills in the kitchen, which her teammates benefit from when she brings us meals to show us how much she loves us.
Judy is a kind and caring individual who always goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is comfortable and well taken care of. Her positive attitude and willingness to help out wherever needed make her an invaluable member of our team.
In her spare time, she loves kayaking on Table Rock Lake and playing with her grandkids.
Bailey – Kennel Tech
Bailey started volunteering in 2018 and learned how to handle the animals and clean up after them. She has been working part-time since 2020. Her heart for the animals makes her such a valuable teammate.
Victoria – Doggie Daycare and Grooming
Cleveland – Dog Tech
Cleveland joined our team this summer, initially as a short-term contractor. However, his “can-do” attitude and commitment to excellence quickly made him an invaluable asset. Cleveland is fantastic with the dogs, handling each one with patience and care, ensuring they feel comfortable and happy. His dedication to cleanliness and organization keeps our facility spotless, creating a welcoming and safe environment for both pets and future adopters. We’re thrilled to have Cleveland as part of our team!
Myla – Cat Tech
Myla joined our team this summer as our dedicated cat technician at the Humane Society. A hardworking and compassionate caregiver, she has a special talent for winning over even the “spiciest” of cats, quickly turning them into her friends. Myla’s commitment to helping every cat find their forever home is truly inspiring, and her enthusiasm for connecting each cat with the perfect family shines through in everything she does. We’re so lucky to have Myla’s dedication and heart on our team!
