OUR THRIFT STORES
We operate two thrift stores, all proceeds go directly to the shelter and care of our animals. They are our main source of income.
Our Downtown thrift store was the first shop to open its doors in 2011, and since then, it has become a beloved destination for thrift shoppers looking for great deals and unique finds. In 2020, Crystal and Erika took over as managers of this location, bringing fresh ideas and energy to our team. Recently, Crystal painted the floor and walls, Kansas City Chiefs RED. It is two stories, with new items going out daily.
We also have a thrift store located on Shepherd of the Hills Expressway, right next to our adoption center. Corrine is the manager of this location, and she works tirelessly to ensure that our store is always stocked with quality items at affordable prices. She takes pride in the store not looking like a thrift store.
Our thrift stores are an essential part of our organization, as they help us raise the funds we need to provide shelter, medical care, and support for the animals in our care. We are grateful for the support of our community, and we invite you to visit our stores and see all the amazing things we have to offer. Thank you for your support!
Please remember to shop and DONATE to both locations.
Corrine joined our team as manager of the SOH thrift store in 2020 and has been an invaluable asset to our organization ever since.
Corrine has worked for 14 years at Cracker Barrel, where she gained valuable experience in customer service and management. She continues to work part-time at Cracker Barrel, demonstrating her strong work ethic and dedication to both of her jobs. She goes above and beyond to ensure that our store is always stocked with items that will appeal to our customers.
Corrine has a special place in her heart for the “littles” and hound dogs. She always comes over once a day to give a dog some attention and to get a little love from them. We are grateful to have Corrine on our team, and we know that she will continue to make a positive impact in the lives of the animals we serve. Thank you, Corrine, for all that you do!

Crystal is a force to be reckoned with. She has taken over the downtown thrift store and has made it so profitable for us, while helping the community get items they need. She has a heart for helping people, even if she saids she doesn’t like people.

Erika started on the cash register in 2021. She has moved up to floor manager. She has learned so much over the past few years. She is great at knowing what people want and truly wants to help them.
Erika’s commitment to learning and growing, and her ability to connect with our customers and anticipate their needs is a valuable asset to our team. It’s clear that Erika is passionate about helping people, and her desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others shines through in everything she does.
